Well to be honest, May got off to a horrible start! I woke up on Monday, May 1st with an ambitious to-do list and a brutal case of food poisoning! I was down for the count, and it took a lot of struggle to get that first piece of artwork finished and posted! I haven’t had anything take me down like that for years! It took me a few days to feel fully normal again. Thankfully the artwork for the rest of the week didn’t suffer for it! After that setback the rest of the month just FLEW by. Like I mentioned last month, I’ve gotten into a pretty good groove creating these pieces which feels great.
The biggest struggle at this point is making sure I have enough photos stocked to get me through! I have a large collection of old photos but not every photo works for this project. Past months I have relied on submissions and local antique scores. Towards the end of this month I took to the internet and bought a few lots of photos on Ebay! I think this is going to be a great resource for me in the future. Not only am I spending a bit less per photo than the antique stores, but I also end up with photos from different areas which I really enjoy. I even got a few photos from the UK that I’m excited to dive into for June’s photos. We’re quickly approaching the halfway point and time is going by so much faster now! These little milestones feel great so I’m quite looking forward to it. I’m fully ready for June – my birthday month!
